One of the things the boys did during Lesson 4 was make a bird poster. They each had to pick a bird they wanted to learn more about. They were given a simple set of instructions and had to make note cards from their research. I used the Tapestry of Grace Visual Display Rubric to grade their projects.
Noodle even made a little Lego Red Bellied Woodpecker. The boys did great jobs and all earned B's based on using the Rubric.
As part of our Zoology fun, we have been reading The Owl in the Shower. It is a cute book and the boys get to predict what they think will happen next.

Lastly, the boys made some clay birds. ND is very artistically inclined and it bothers Noodle that his art isn't as good. It was an opportunity to explain that we all have our gifts, but also that if we want to be better at something then we can practice and work at it. I thought all their creations were cute. Technically a Platypus isn't a bird, but that is what Noodle made - we found online that they are related to birds and reptiles - so who knows. Haha.
