In my life this week…
Recovery. I am feeling much better than last week, but have a lingering cough that is inconvenient for me.
Also, bugs. Dead bugs. During the road trip, Bear got inspired and immediately upon arriving home he made a "killing jar" to euthanize insects. Then he took off for camp and brought some gnarly bugs home. Here's his collection so far:
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
We spent most of the week at home, but did venture out to see Fireworks on the 4th and went to the pool with our homeschool friends on Thursday.
My favorite thing this week was…
Hanging with friends at the Fireworks show. We are blessed to have like minded friends who are funny and fun to be around. We watched sky divers swoop in right in front of us - it was awesome to watch, but my heart was pounding as they came in for landing as they all looked like they might tumble and roll. No thanks!!
Questions/thoughts I have…
In light of the current political situation, I really find myself wondering why so many people are willing to give up freedoms in exchange for allowing the corrupt government to allegedly "give" them stuff. I am saddened and disheartened by ignorance. Sigh.
Things I’m working on…
Getting ready for the "new" school year which is scheduled to begin August 27th. Mind you, we are still in the current school year - wrapping up 2nd and 10th grade. I am working on getting the whole school year's plans in place so that while I am attending my classes and doing my homework, I am not having to plan for the kids at the same time. I really want to open up the lesson plan book and get right to it.

Divergent.
My Bear and his salvation. Always. My 16 year old son is not saved and it terrifies me daily. I am also praying for strength and desire to choose food wisely. I regained every pound I previously lost and I feel like doo doo. I am tired, out of breath and angry about it. I don't need to be skinny, but I want to be healthy. It's a lifetime battle I can't seem to get a grip on and I don't know why.

He could have won at our 4H with those bugs. There wasn't a single entry in the insect collection contest.

That's quite a collection he has. I remember having to do that for school one year. Not this girly girl's favorite assignment. lol
