Congratulations to my Noodle! We have been reading, talking about, and watching videos on Lewis and Clark for at least the last four weeks, maybe more. Noodle has really enjoyed the Lewis and Clark story so much that he has asked almost every day to work on his project! His hard work paid off for him.
Books we read:
A Picture Book of Lewis and Clark
Movies we watched:
Working on the project:
 |
| Starting the display board. |
 |
| Putting the title on display board. |
 |
| Burning the map border to make it look old. |
Studying and practicing his presentation:
 |
| I found him like this - studying the notes he narrated to me. Awww! |
 |
| Practicing his presentation for me the afternoon of the History Fair. |
The night of the History Fair:
 |
| Presenting to Judge #1 |
 |
| Presenting to Judge #2 |
 |
| Noodle with his project - wearing his Meriwether Lewis costume. He and Grandpa Jason made it together. |
 |
| One of Noodle's scoresheets from the judges - 98 points! |
 |
| Being presented with his FIRST PLACE ribbon in the 2nd and 3rd grade category! |
 |
| So proud!! |

Yay!!!!! So awesome! I would love for our Co-op to have Literature or History Fair. I might have to suggest that for next year.
Great job Noodle!!
We moved to Montana almost 3 years ago and the kids have loved learning about the Corps! We visited the Lewis & Clark Interpretive center in Great Falls last week and they've been talking about the expedition non-stop since then!
So fun when they really latch on to something and really EMBRACE learning about it. I'm going to have to look into those books, my boys would be thrilled!

I really wish there was something like this here for my kids. Being, the history buff, I know I'd love it! :-)
WOW! Great job! You must be so proud. It's exciting to see our kids succeed. :)
Wow, what a great project!! We loved the book "How We Crossed the West" and the Ken Burns movie too.
What an awesome project; I can tell he worked hard on it. I love to see what kids can do when they find something that they're really and truly interested in.
Awesome job!!!!

Great Job!!! I know where to come to get great resources when we study Lewis and Clark in our history lessons.
That is awesome! Congrats!
Lewis & Clark are favorites around here since we can visit several of their campsites (and one's grave). Great Work!!
What a fantastic idea! I organize a science fair for homeschoolers each year. Maybe I should alternate with a history fair...
